The building inspection is probably the most important part of the buying process. Determining the condition of the home or business is crucial. Knowing the areas that are in need of repair or upgrading gives you and understanding of how to budget for future expenses. Select, Inspect then decide. Not following this guide line can result in unforeseen problems and expenses.
The stucco and or EIFS moisture testing and system evaluation is in accordance with ASTM standards for testing and forensic material collection. This is a nationally accepted standard and is required so that accurate test results can be obtained. Though we are certified as a level 3 thermographer utilizing state of the art equipment, we do not use this method for evaluating stucco or EIFS as it does not meet the ASTM standards of testing of these systems. The thermographic testing does not give accurate moisture levels and or an understanding of the condition of the substrate. It is critical to determine the condition of the system, moisture levels and construction materials. The stucco / EIFS inspections are performed to give an understanding of the system performance as well as a scope of repair if necessary.
